1. Scope

These Terms of Use apply to the use of the website mychurchguide.com and the MyChurchGuide apps (together "MyChurchGuide"), operated by Church Guide GmbH, Faberstraße 20/22, 5020 Salzburg, Austria. The terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play also apply to the download of the apps. For the iOS app, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies in addition. In the event of any conflict, these Terms of Use take precedence to the extent permitted by law.


2. Services

MyChurchGuide provides information about churches, in particular about their architecture, history and special features, with videos, photos, highlights and audio guides. Use is free of charge. The content is created and maintained by Church Guide GmbH. We strive to keep it accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee this. This applies in particular to opening hours and service times. We may change, extend or discontinue features.


3. User account

You can use MyChurchGuide without an account. With an account, you can save churches as favourites.

  • You must be at least 14 years old to create an account.
  • The information you provide must be truthful.
  • You are responsible for keeping your access secure, in particular the email account to which login links are sent. Do not share login links with others.
  • There is no entitlement to an account.


4. Permitted use

You may use MyChurchGuide for private, non-commercial purposes only. In particular, you may not:

  • extract content automatically (scraping) or copy it systematically
  • publish or share texts, photos, videos or audio guides without our consent
  • disrupt or overload the technical infrastructure or circumvent security measures
  • modify, reverse engineer or decompile the apps, unless expressly permitted by law


5. Rights to content

All content on MyChurchGuide is protected by copyright. We grant you a simple, non-transferable right to use the content privately within the scope of these terms, which we may revoke at any time.


6. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for personal injury. We are not liable for slight negligence to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory consumer rights under the Austrian Consumer Protection Act (Konsumentenschutzgesetz) remain unaffected. We do not guarantee that MyChurchGuide will be available at all times. When visiting churches, please observe the house rules and any instructions on site.


7. Term, termination and deletion

Sie können Ihr Konto jederzeit in der App bzw. auf der Website löschen. Damit endet die Nutzungsvereinbarung. Wir können ein Konto mit einer Frist von zwei Wochen kündigen. Bei schweren Verstößen gegen diese Bedingungen können wir ein Konto sofort sperren oder löschen. Wenn wir den Dienst einstellen, informieren wir Sie vorab per E-Mail.

9. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms if the service or the legal situation changes. We will inform you of material changes in the app or by email at least four weeks before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.


10. Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence. The place of jurisdiction for businesses is Salzburg. For consumers, the statutory places of jurisdiction apply.
